How long have you been coaching for?

5 years officially as a PT. Previous group sports coaching going back further.

How long have you been working at results?

I’ve been involved with the gym since January 2020. Coaching/PT full time out of the gym since August 2023.

What is your personal background & how did you get into coaching?

I fight at a highest level in Armoured Martial Arts/Buhurt with the best team in the UK and one of the best teams (White Company) in the world. The activity/sport is essentially full contact fighting with medieval armour and weapons. I supplement AMA with training Judo, Freestyle Wrestling, HEMA fencing (Sabre). I train strength and conditioning including cardio regularly in the gym as it is key to performance and longevity in martial arts/sports. If your not seeing me lift heavy, I’m typically dying on the treadmill!

Prior to this, I’ve been a strength and conditioning enthusiast since I was 15, dabbling in different methodologies in particular powerlifting methodology. The knowledge I’ve gained over the years I’ve applied to the success of myself and my clients of all levels.

The thought of becoming a PT has been present from my later years at school. I went on to study fitness, health, and exercise at college/university. Since I moved to Aberdeen in January 2020 I began my career officially as PT/coach.

Why do people come to you for coaching?

I cater for all goals, with the focus of achieving them with a strength and conditioning focus. I specialise in strength and conditioning focused training.

The simple: get stronger, fitter, lose body fat. The more complicated: Most of my clients are office workers by profession, this often comes with plenty of back, shoulder, and neck pain including sciatica symptoms.

I’ve had great success with my methodologies alleviating much of this. I’ve worked with plenty of people who have dabbled with their first powerlifting competition, likewise more intermediate to advanced powerlifters to which one of them achieved a Scottish record.

I train/coach fighters of my own sport, other martial artists, and two American football players.

Where can people expect to find you?

Mostly in arch 19, but I am often in the training hall and studio with clients. I’m in the gym almost everyday! This place is my sanctuary.
